Growth.

Update on the seedlings!

It still amazes me that these  tiny seeds have started to grow into little plants - something I'm conflicted about each day as I walk through a city filled with trees, plants, bushes, and weeds.  I'm aware that things grow, but there is something different about a plant growing from a seed you watched being planted.

Basil Sprouts

There are many kinds of growth, spiritual, physical, etc. - but few that can be observed so readily and with such immediate results as a swiftly growing plant.  In short I'm impressed with how well, and how rapidly these small life forms begin to mature.  I stand to learn from their example!

Changes.

Life is full of changes, some for better, some for worse, some expected some unexpected, and some are just completely necessary.   This is one of those necessary changes, both unexpected and for better.  The seeds just weren't doing so well in the egg carton home, and we just didn't have enough room to grow all the stuff we wanted.  A trip to William Dam Seeds to pick up our seed order inspired a new direction.

Soil and water mix for the seeds new home.  This larger tray has deeper sections to hold more soil and should allow the sprouts to grow stronger in preparation for transplanting into the garden.

Mmmmmm! Nourishing soil!

New seeds!  Green Zebra Tomatoes, Pickling Cucumbers, Cherry Tomatoes, Bunching Onions, San Marzano Tomatoes and more!

Behold!  Life in its infancy!

Delicate hand planting ensures that each little seed will treated with love and respect.

Now, we wait.  And water.  And wait.
